The Firm

REVIEW1_edited.jpg

GCR Business Law was established in March 2016 with a focus on providing litigation and bankruptcy support to general practitioners by providing title opinions and ownership and encumbrance reports at a competitive price, assisting in bankruptcy representation of community associations and post-bankruptcy discharge collections, and on representing community associations, business entities, and individuals in obtaining bankruptcy relief.  Over the course of my practice, I have successfully represented debtors (corporate and individual) in bankruptcy proceedings; provided legal and title opinions to real estate investors and assisted numerous small businesses and community associations regarding day-to-day operations, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution including voluntary pre-suit mediation, arbitration, administrative agency hearings, litigation, and appeals.

As a solo practitioner, I personally provide all services to clients.  As a result, each business or litigation support solution is customized to the clients’ specific business or litigation needs.  I am responsive to clients’ needs and provide feedback within 24 hours.  Generally, title opinions or ownership and encumbrance reports are provided within 5 business days of receipt, or 24-48 hours upon expedited requests.

I am Gian Ratnapala, the founder and managing member of GCR Business Law, PLLC.  In 2004, I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Art degree in music and computer science from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and in 2010, I graduated summa cum laude with a Juris Doctorate degree from St. Thomas University, School of Law, Miami Gardens, Florida.  I am licensed to practice in law in the States of Florida, New Jersey, New York state, and before the federal District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida, the federal District and Bankruptcy Courts for the District of New Jersey, and the federal Circuit Court of Appeal for the 11th Circuit.

My legal career began at PeytonBolin, PL, where I was a law clerk from April 2009 and an associate attorney from June 2012. In February 2016, I left PeytonBolin to establish my own practice with a focus on real estate investments, transactional law, and bankruptcy law.
